Accessibility

Beinc is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible. We believe good design is inclusive design — the work we ship for ourselves and for our clients should be usable by people of all abilities, on any device, regardless of how they choose to access it.

1. Standards

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at conformance level AA, the international standard for web accessibility published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make digital content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, speech, cognitive, and neurological needs.

2. What We've Built In

This site has been designed and developed with accessibility in mind. Among other things, we have:

  • Used semantic HTML so assistive technologies can navigate content meaningfully.
  • Maintained colour contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA across body text, headings, and interactive elements.
  • Made all interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
  • Provided descriptive alt text for meaningful imagery, and aria labels where icons stand in for text.
  • Honoured the prefers-reduced-motion system setting, so animations soften or pause for users who prefer less movement.
  • Ensured form fields have visible labels and clear error states.
  • Built layouts that scale gracefully across viewports and respond to browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or function.

3. Known Limitations

Accessibility is a moving target, and we are aware that some areas of this site may not yet fully meet our target standards. Items currently on our list to improve include:

  • Auditing interactive components (carousels, hover-driven interactions) against the latest WCAG 2.2 AA criteria.
  • Strengthening focus indicators in areas where the visible focus ring needs more contrast.
  • Adding captions and transcripts to video content where they are missing.

These items are tracked and prioritised as part of our ongoing development cycle.

4. Reporting an Accessibility Issue

If you encounter content on this site that you find difficult or impossible to access, we want to hear about it. Please email us at hello@beinc.com.au with:

  • The URL of the page where you encountered the issue.
  • A description of what you were trying to do.
  • The assistive technology, browser, and device you were using, if relevant.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to fix substantive issues as quickly as we reasonably can.

5. Ongoing Improvement

This statement is not a tickbox exercise. We re-audit our site regularly, train our team on accessible design and code practices, and apply the same principles to the work we deliver for our clients. Accessibility is part of how we measure quality — not an afterthought.
